From State Senator Sue Rezin:
Democrats Pass “Surge” Energy Bill

| Democrats Pass Controversial Energy Legislation. In the final hours of Veto Session, Illinois Democrats pushed through their so-called “Energy Omnibus Bill,” a sweeping law critics say opens the door to $8 billion in higher power bills. The bill removes long-standing limits on how much energy rates can rise, gives unelected agencies new authority over rate increases, and strips local control over where massive battery facilities can be built — even within 150 feet of homes or farms. State Senator Sue Rezin says Illinois families are already being crushed by rising costs and warns this legislation will make energy even more expensive and less reliable. |
