At Crystal Creek Farm, a venue I had not previously visited close to Burton’s Bridge, McHenry County State’s Attorney Randi Freese held a fundraiser two weeks ago.

It was a double-dipper for many as McHenry County GOPAC was holding a petition party and memorial for Charlie Kirk the same night.

Crystal Creek Farm is an impressive place.

The inside is quite eye catching.

Freese greeted people at the entrance, where an assistant gathered contact information.

The finger food on the tables in the background was superb.

The place was chock-a-block full of attorneys, but, as you might guess, I concentrated on the politicians.

Coroner Michael Rein, Circuit Clerk Kathy Keefe and County Board member Joe Gottemoeller are in this photo.

Kathy Keefe is having a good time talking to Jim Militello.

That blue patch on the bar revealed those who paid more than the $75 entrance fee.

More of those really interested in politics:

County Board Chairman, County Board member Mike Shorten and Eileen Marhoefer conversed.

I wondered around and continued to be impressed with Crystal Creek Farm.

A view out the back of the barn shows a pond.

But back to the attendees.

Wondering around again, I found a patio on the same level as the barn floor.

Down a ramp from the patio was a gazebo.

Randi Freese gave a short speech.

She stressed that she did not consider herself a politician.

Freese said she had tried a ten-day trial and felt right at home.

Naturally, she thanked those in attendance and those who helped put on the event, emphasizing her sister really knew how to stage an event.
