From the Fire Protection District:
At approximately 2:40 p.m. today, the McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) responded to a
report of a vehicle that had crashed into a building in the 400 block of Scotland Road in the Village of
Lakemoor.

Crews arrived on the scene within four minutes to find a vehicle had crashed into a gas meter and then through a brick wall of a business.
The vehicle was on fire and spreading to the building which was a large industrial type building with several different businesses inside.
The response was immediately upgraded to a Structure Fire and then to a Working Fire response to secure additional personnel and water resources, as no fire hydrants were available in the immediate area.
NICOR was also requested.
MTFPD crews quickly deployed two hose lines to protect the businesses while working to keep the gas-fed fire in check fire.
Simultaneously, fire crews checked the building for occupants and for the driver of the vehicle.
Everyone was out and accounted for.
A tow truck already on location pulled the burning vehicle away from the building so that fire crews could
access the gas shut-off valve.
The gas was shut off, and the fire was under control at approximately 3:06 p.m.
The fire departments that assisted either on the scene or covering MTFPD stations were Cary, Crystal Lake, Fox Lake, Nunda, Richmond, Round Lake, Spring Grove, Wauconda, Wonder Lake, and Woodstock.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was evaluated by EMS and signed a medical release with no injuries noted.
Lakemoor Police and MTFPD fire investigators were on the scene to investigate the incident.
A damage estimate is not available.
