7,600 population Marengo has asked McHenry County government to take over its permitting and zoning function.
Such an intergovernmental agreement is on the agenda of the next McHenry County Board meeting:
“An Intergovernmental Agreement between the County of McHenry and the City of Marengo for the County to provide Zoning Application Administration, Permit Review, Zoning Inquiries, and other related Zoning Service to the City.”
The accompanying memo states that no new county employees will be needed.
Reimbursement for service provided will be paid the County.
