From the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District:

Two Separate Crashes Involving Semi Trucks Reported Monday

On Monday, October 6, 2025, at 1:06 p.m., the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to the intersection of Route 47 and Charles Road in unincorporated Woodstock for a reported vehicle crash with injuries.

Firefighters arrived and found a two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck and a mid-size SUV.

Two people were inside the SUV, an adult male and an adult female.

The female was pinned inside the vehicle and required extrication to free her.

Due to the severity of her injuries, a medical helicopter was requested and landed near the scene.

She was transferred to the helicopter and airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries.

The male driver of the SUV was evaluated on scene by paramedics but was not transported to the hospital.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

The roadway north of the intersection was closed in both directions during the duration of the incident while emergency crews worked at the scene.

Second Crash at Dangerous Intersection

Approximately 90 minutes later, the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District was dispatched to the intersection of Hartland Road and Route 14 for a crash involving a small sedan and a semi-truck.

A passenger vehicle had sustained heavy damage in the collision and was found in the roadway, while the semi was located just west of the intersection in a ditch.

Both drivers, the sole occupants of their vehicles, were evaluated on scene and transported to local hospitals with minor to moderate, non-life-threatening injuries.

Route 14 westbound was closed for over an hour while crews operated at the scene.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating both crashes. Any additional questions regarding the investigation, including cause, fault, seat belt use, and speeds, should be referred to their office.
