A couple of weeks ago, we spent the mid-week in Galena.

While others were shopping, I finished a book I had started and completed another one.

In the bathroom of the Best Western, I was reminded of Bill Cellini, a man I worked for as he tried to elect Denny Kelley Mayor of Springfield.

Dick Durbin and he were on the same side, unsuccessfully trying to beat Sangamon County Coroner Bill Telford.

He was the man behind the Abraham Lincoln Hotel.

In it were installed curved shower racks keeping the curtain outside the tub.

Wikepedia says he graduated in physics at Illinois College, a fact that probably led to his patent on the rack.

Now, the design has spread worldwide.

Even to Galena’s Best Western.
