From the State’s Attorney:

JUAN A. RODRIGUEZ-FIGUEROA SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR SOLICITATION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

McHenry County State’s Attorney Randi L. Freese announces that on September 26, 2025, Juan A. Rodriguez Figueroa, 21, of Crystal Lake, Illinois, was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the offense of Solicitation of Child Pornography, a Class 1 felony.

Rodriguez Figueroa was sentenced by the Honorable Judge Tiffany Davis after entering a negotiated plea of guilty to the offense.

In April of 2024, Detective Zielinski with the Crystal Lake Police Department received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding sexual exploitation material being shared through the social media application Snapchat.

Through her investigation, Det. Zielinski discovered that Rodriguez Figueroa had been utilizing Snapchat to communicate with a minor child in Texas and that he had solicited that minor child to produce and send sexually explicit images and videos to him.

Upon release from custody, Rodriguez Figueroa will be placed on Mandatory Supervised Release for a period of twelve months. Defendant must also register as a sex offender for the remainder of his natural life.

State’s Attorney Freese appreciates the diligent efforts of Detective Zielinski and the Crystal Lake Police Department for their work on this case and their continued efforts in investigating crimes against children.

This case was successfully prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorneys Maria Marek and Shelby Page.
