From the Harvard Fire Protection District:

Yesterday at 2:43 p.m., crews were dispatched to the 2000 block of N. Division Street (Route 14) for a vehicle crash involving a pickup truck and utility pole.

While en route, the call was upgraded for possible entrapment after reports that the driver was unable to escape and a large utility pole was leaning over the vehicle.

Firefighters arrived to find the pole snapped at the base and being held by the wires, with the sole occupant still inside the truck.

The driver was freed without the use of extrication tools and transported with minor injuries to a local hospital.

Route 14 was closed in both directions for nearly three hours, reopening shortly after 5:30 p.m.
