Recently, McHenry County Blog ran a story on the Illinois legislature’s having appropriated money to make connections between the Milwaukee West line and the Union Pacific track that runs though Huntley and Marengo to Rockford.

Van Galder already runs something like a dozen buses a day from Rockford to O’Hare and 15 to the Loop.

Now, according to the Rockford Register-Star, American Airlines will add a new shuttle service between Rockford and O’Hare airports to begin on October 20th.

It will be like booking a flight from Rockford, with check-in being much easier and parking much cheaper.

The cost will be $20-$30.

Wondering why taxpayers need a train to duplicate an existing service.
