On September 4th, a McHenry County Sheriff’s bus was traveling westbound on Route 120 at the intersection of Hainesville Road in Grayslake,
A motorist, Carol Gitzke, suddenly and without warning, made an improper left turn within the intersection and failed to yield the right-of-way and collided with the Defendants’ vehicle which resulted in a crash.
Gitzke, whose car hit the bus, is accused of negligently failing to avoid a collision, causing plaintiffs injuries.
There were sixteen prisoners being returned to the McHenry County Jail.
Here is who is suing:

The suit says the Gitzke ran a red light.
She subsequently pled guilty to negligently failing to avoid a collision, then and there causing Plaintiffs injuries.
The filing contends the prisoners “sustained severe and permanent injuries, and was and will be hindered and prevented from attending to their usual duties and affairs of life, has lost wages, and has lost and will lose the value of that time as aforementioned. Further,,,suffered great pain and anguish, both in mind and body, and will in the future continue to suffer [and],,, further expended and became liable for large sums of money for medical care and services while endeavoring to become healed and cured of said injuries.”
