Crystal Lake Police Conduct Crash Investigation

Crystal Lake, IL – On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at approximately 7:24 AM, Crystal Lake Police and Fire/Rescue responded to Route 176 and Haligus Road for the report of a two vehicle crash involving injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed a semi-truck was driving eastbound through the intersection when it collided with a sedan that was traveling northbound.

Both drivers were transported from the scene with non-life threatening injuries.

The collision resulted in the semi-truck rolling over and losing its load of gravel.

A portion of the roadway was temporarily shut down while emergency personnel worked the scene.

The driver of the semi-truck, a resident of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, was cited for Disregarding a Traffic Control Device.

This event remains under investigation by the Crystal Lake Police Department.

Late yesterday afternoon, it was Randall Road north of Miller Road.

It’s Friday morning and the Crystal Lake police report a gravel truck has overturned ln Route 176 between Briarwood and Haligus Roads.
