MTFPD Structure Fire

On Monday, September 1st, at approximately 8:14 a.m., the McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 1200 block of Capri Terrace in McHenry.

Fire crews arrived on the scene within six minutes to find a two-story home with smoke visible from the roof line.

Responding crews were informed that everyone had evacuated the house.

The alarm was upgraded to a Working Fire, which brought neighboring fire departments to the scene and staffed MTFPD stations.

MTFPD crews performed an offensive fire attack, containing the fire to a corner of the house, with smoke and water damage throughout.

Crews conducted an immediate search of the structure with no victims or pets found.

The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes.

No residents or firefighters were injured.

The fire is currently under investigation, and a damage estimate is unavailable at this time.

The house is deemed uninhabitable.

MTFPD was assisted either on scene or with change-of-quarters by the Cary, Crystal Lake, Fox Lake, Nunda, Richmond, Round Lake, Spring Grove, Wauconda, Woodstock, and Wonder Lake fire departments.
