From the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District:

Two-Vehicle Crash Leaves Pickup Dangling Over City Wastewater Tank

On August 18, 2025, at 2:56 p.m., the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to the 1900 block of Tappan Street in Woodstock for a reported vehicle crash.

Firefighters arrived on scene and located a two-vehicle crash, with one vehicle in the roadway and a second vehicle inside the Woodstock Wastewater Treatment Plant at 1965 Tappan Street.

The second vehicle, a pickup truck, came to rest inside the facility, dangling over the edge of one of the wastewater tanks.

An initial report of possible entrapment was quickly determined not to be the case.

The adult male driver inside the facility was removed from his vehicle by firefighters.

He was evaluated on scene by paramedics but refused any additional medical attention.

Two occupants in the other vehicle were also evaluated on scene and declined further treatment, and no additional injuries were reported.

Firefighters then assisted with stabilizing and lifting the pickup truck using their equipment before it was rolled onto the tow truck for removal.

Damage to the facility was limited to a metal guardrail and siding, and operations continued as normal.

The Woodstock Police Department is investigating the crash. Any additional questions regarding the incident, including the cause of the crash, citations, or other related details, should be directed to their office.
