Long-time legislative reporter Dave McKenney, now with WBEZ after leaving the Sun-Times, reports on Governor JB Pritzker’s threat to further gerrymander Illinois congressional districts.
There are only three Republican districts in shrinking Illinois.
Mike Bost and Mary Miller are far Downstate that has flipped from pro-life Democrat to Trump Republican.
In both districts Trump won by more than forty points.
That leaves Darin LaHood, whose district runs from Peoria up to northwest McHenry County.
“The third GOP district now occupied by U.S. Rep. Darin LaHood is still decidedly Republican but less one-sided. It skirts Democratic-friendly areas of Rockford, Peoria and Bloomington-Normal, and Trump’s advantage over Harris last year stood at about 23 percentage points,” reports the Sun-Times…
“The government reform group, Common Cause, gave Illinois’ last redistricting effort a failing grade, one notch below the D- it gave to Texas. The group faulted the congressional maps put into place by Illinois and six other states ‘due to egregious partisan and racial gerrymandering.’”

The district running up the center of the state is Darin LaHood’s.
