Looking at articles about McHenry County this morning, I noticed a Northern Public Radio story about a candidacy announcement of a Democrat running against Republican Jeff Keicher:
So, I clicked on the article and found this headline:
With the repeated claims of objective reporting from various NPR ads, I next searched for a similar article on Keicher’s re-election bid.
He sent out a press release in the second week of June:
But, surprise, surprise, WNIU did not run a story on that.
It reminds me of the puff piece that the station ran when Jack Franks announced his candidacy for the McHenry County Board chairmanship.
A second story ran the day he took office.
I’m not suggesting the stories were not newsworthy, but it does prompt me to see if similar stories ran when Mike Buehler beat Franks.
Crickets.
