Nine o’clock is the time set for sentencing of former Crystal Lake City Clerk Nick Kachiroubas for sex crimes.
The crimes?
Possessing images of children being sexually abused, a Class 2 felony, and grooming.
He was a Student Trustee for McHenry County College, then was elected as Trustee with no opposition. He lost his re-election bid. I’m assuming because his opponent’s last name was easier to pronounce.
Kachiroubas served several terms as Crystal Lake City Clerk and at least one term as the appointed Republican Precinct Committeeman in Algonquin Precinct 7 when I live.
He was a professor at DePaul University and served on the Illinois Community College Board.
The electorate eliminated the office of City Clerk in the last election.
