State Representative Martin McLaughlin Announces Re-Election Campaign for the 52nd District
Barrington, IL – State Representative Martin McLaughlin announced today that he will seek re-election to continue serving the people of Illinois’ 52nd District.
“I have been honored to represent the families and businesses of the 52nd District for the past four and a half years,” McLaughlin said.
“During that time, I’ve proudly stood as one of the few voices in Springfield willing to challenge the tax-and-spend crowd on both sides of the aisle—those who continue making life more difficult for hardworking Illinoisans.” [Emphasis added.]
McLaughlin, known for his direct and candid approach, emphasized his continued commitment to cutting through political noise.
“The political class may not appreciate my efforts to pierce the veil of half-truths and selective facts—but voters deserve nothing less.
“Transparency and accountability are more important now than ever.”
As national agendas increasingly influence local policies, McLaughlin offers a clear alternative.
“Our region is not hungry for failed, progressive national agendas being forced onto our local families, businesses, and schools.
“I will continue to offer a commonsense alternative rooted in fiscal responsibility, personal freedom, and local control.”
Despite millions of dollars in opposition spending from the Governor and Speaker of the House in prior campaigns, McLaughlin remains undeterred.
“I’m proud to have taken the arrows from the progressive machine.
“I remain unafraid, uncompromised, and unwavering in my mission to expose the dysfunction in Springfield and the careless way your tax dollars are spent.
“Without voices like mine, the government would have outlawed homeschooling and imposed new personal service taxes—just in the last session.”
Acknowledging a crowded Democratic primary field, McLaughlin added:
“I expect the three opponents vying to outdo one another by pushing their party even further left.
“Meanwhile, I’ll continue building a coalition of Republicans, Independents, and moderate Democrats who are ready to bring Illinois back to a time when it was affordable to live, raise a family, and build a future.”
McLaughlin concluded:
“It’s time to bring Illinois back to the future—and to Make Sense Common Again.”
