Fire – Pyndale Drive
On Friday, August 1st, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 4800 block of Pyndale Drive in McHenry.

Fire crews arrived on the scene within four minutes to find a two-story split-level home with heavy fire visible from a basement window, which was spreading to the second floor and attic.
Responding crews were informed that everyone was out of the house, but pets remained inside.
While enroute, the fire was upgraded to a Working Fire, which brought in additional units and change of quarter companies.
Once on scene, a MABAS (Mutual Aid Box Alarm System) Box Alarm for Fire Investigators was also requested.
The initial arriving crews made an offensive attack and deployed hoselines through the basement window and the front door of the home for fire suppression while also searching the home for victims.
Search crews found two deceased cats inside.
The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes.
No residents or firefighters were injured.
The fire is currently under investigation, and a damage estimate is unavailable at this time.
The house is deemed uninhabitable.
The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the displaced residents.
MTFPD was assisted either on scene or change of quarters by the Barrington-Countryside, Cary, Crystal Lake, Fox Lake, Wauconda, Wonder Lake, Richmond, Round Lake, Spring Grove, and Woodstock fire departments.
