SEAN A. FITZPATRICK FOUND GUILTY OF RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY AFTER JURY TRIAL
McHenry County State’s Attorney Randi L. Freese announces that Sean A. Fitzpatrick, 49, of Poplar Grove, Illinois, was found guilty of

- Residential Burglary (Class 2 felony),
- Theft Over $100,000 (Class 1 felony),
- Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle (Class 2 felony),
- Aggravated Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicles (Class 1 felony),
- Possession of a Stolen Firearm (Class 2 felony), and
- Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon (Class 3 felony),
following a three-day jury trial before the Honorable Judge Tiffany Davis.
Evidence was presented at trial that Fitzpatrick burglarized a residence in Marengo, Illinois over the span of two days in March of 2023, together with his co-defendant, Scott Henrie.
Fitzpatrick and Henrie stole over $100,000 of property from the homeowners, including flat screen televisions, clothing, jewelry, and household appliances.
Fitzpatrick and Henrie facilitated this burglary by stealing the homeowner’s truck, loading the affixed trailer with a John Deer Gator, snowplow, and many other items from inside the residence.
The pair also stole the homeowner’s 2022 Lexus sedan.
The stolen property was then brought back to Fitzpatrick’s home, where it was recovered by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
State’s Attorney Randi Freese commends Detective Quick and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office for their thorough investigation in this matter.
She would also like to thank Victim Witness Coordinator Polo Fabian for his assistance to the victims during the pendency of this case and coordinating witnesses for the trial.
This case was successfully prosecuted at trial by Assistant State’s Attorneys Shelby Page and Steve Gregorowicz.
