From State Rep. Sue Ness comes this announcement of her re-election intentions. (My guess that she would run to replace retiring State Senator Don DeWitte is proven wrong.)

Official Statement of Re-election

Being a State Representative has been one of the most rewarding and fulfilling positions of my life.

I feel a deep sense of responsibility to be worthy every day of the trust that people have placed in me.

The continued support I receive is humbling and I am grateful.

It is with this same humility that I am pleased to announce my intention to run for re-election as State Representative of the 66th District.

The work is not done!

I appreciate the opportunities I have in this role including chairing the Adoption and Child Welfare committee, championing the rights of those with disabilities and their families, working with local leaders to bring additional resources to our district, and connecting people to vital services they need to improve their lives.

No 2 days are ever the same.

I love that!

Next year’s election cycle is already shaping up to be a busy one.

I intend to help great candidates up and down the ballot, while maintaining my own race.

I appreciate all of the inquiries and offers of help so many have given me in the last few weeks as I considered a run for the State Senate, but in the end, this is the right choice for me and my family.

I look forward to continuing to represent the 66th IL House district.
