From the Sheriff:
Deputies Involved in April 10 Incident Return to Full Duty
Following the standard review process required under Illinois law, the four deputies involved in the April 10 critical incident in unincorporated Crystal Lake have been cleared to return to full duty.
The McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team (MIAT) conducted an independent investigation.
After a final legal review by McHenry County State’s Attorney, the investigation has been deemed complete.
As with all deputy-involved-shootings, those involved were placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation and legal review.
The Sheriff’s Office appreciates the professionalism of MIAT and the State’s Attorney throughout this process.
Upon completion of the investigation, Body Worn Camera footage of the incident has been released.
