Wisconsin and Southern to Perform a Temporary Closure of Wilmot Road for Railroad Crossing Work
WOODSTOCK, Ill. – The McHenry County Division of Transportation announces that Wisconsin and Southern Railroad will be performing a temporary closure of Wilmot Road at the Wisconsin and Southern Railroad crossing to allow for necessary repairs.
The closure is scheduled to begin on Monday July 14th at 5:00 am and is expected to remain in effect until Friday July 18th at 5:00 pm, weather permitting.
This project will not be overseen by the McHenry County Division of Transportation and is being
conducted by Wisconsin and Southern Railroad personnel as dictated by their easements.
Crews from Wisconsin and Southern Railroad will be performing maintenance to the railroad crossing surface and tracks.
To facilitate safety for both the workers and motorists, Wilmot Road will be closed to all through traffic at the railroad crossing, which is located between Illinois Route 12 and Main Street (Route A17).

Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained up to the closure points on either side of
the crossing.
A designated detour route will be posted for motorists. Traffic will be directed to use Illinois Route 12, Blivin Street, and Main Street to navigate around the closure.
Motorists should expect delays, allow for extra travel time, and follow all posted detour signs.
