From the McHenry Township Fire Protection District:

3410 N Cove Ct Fire 

On June 24, 2025, at approximately 11:57 a.m., the McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) responded to a structure fire in the 3400 block of N. Cove Ct. in Johnsburg.

Crews arrived in less than five minutes to find a fire on the rear deck extending to the structure.

No residents were home at the time of the fire, and crews assisted a dog, which was uninjured, out of
the home during extinguishment operations.

The MTFPD brought the fire under control within ten minutes of arrival.

A thorough search of the residence confirmed that no occupants were inside at the time of the incident.

The fire caused damage to the rear deck and exterior siding of the home, with additional smoke and water damage throughout the interior.

No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters.

The fire is currently under investigation. MTFPD was assisted by the Antioch, Cary, Crystal Lake, Nunda, Wauconda, and Wonder Lake fire departments, which were either on the scene or covering our stations.
