Omar Estrada-Escobar, age 35 of Harvard
McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Michael Rein, announced that his office was contacted on June 24, 2025, at around 9:35am by McHenry County Sheriff to investigate the death of Omar Estrada-Escobar, age 35 of Harvard.
Mr. Escobar was involved in a single vehicle accident around the 19700 block of Hebron Rd. in unincorporated Harvard and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An autopsy was performed on June 25, 2025.
Preliminary findings show blunt force injuries as the cause of death.
Toxicology is currently pending.
The Coroner’s Office is continuing to work collaboratively with the McHenry County Sheriff and Harvard Fire Protection District.
Donald Markham, age 50 of Belvidere
McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Michael Rein, announced that his office was contacted on June 24, 2025, at around 9:20 am by the McHenry County Sheriff to investigate the death of Donald Markham, age 50 of Belvidere.
Mr. Markham was involved in a 2-car accident around the 16500 block of Kishwaukee Valley Rd. in unincorporated Woodstock and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An autopsy was performed on June 25, 2025. Preliminary findings show blunt force injuries as the cause of death.
Toxicology is currently pending.
The Coroner’s Office is continuing to work collaboratively with the McHenry County Sheriff and Woodstock Fire and Rescue District.
Laurana Talo, age 27 of Walworth, Wisconsin
McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Michael Rein, announced last week on June 17, 2025, of a death that happened close to the intersection of Rt. 14 and Hughes Rd.
It was determined that the decedent Laurana Talo, age 27 of Walworth, Wisconsin was the decedent.
An autopsy was performed and determined that the cause of death was a gunshot wound.
This case is still under investigation and the Coroner’s Office is continuing to work collaboratively with the
McHenry Count Sheriff’s Office and the Woodstock Fire/Rescue Department.
Nancy Prepura, age 77 in unincorporated Harvard
McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Michael Rein, announced that his office was contacted on June 21, 2025, around 5:10 pm by McHenry County Sheriff to investigate the death of Nancy Prepura, age 77 in unincorporated Harvard.
Mrs. Prepura was found deceased in the residence pool.
An autopsy was performed, and preliminary findings are unavailable at this time.
Toxicology is currently pending.
