From the Coroner:
McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Michael Rein, announced that his office was contacted on June 11, 2025 by the McHenry County Sheriff to investigate the death of Benjamin Olson, age 44, of Crystal Lake.
Mr. Olson was involved in a motorcycle accident around the intersection of Rt. 47/Thayer Rd. in unincorporated Hebron.
Mr. Olson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An autopsy was performed on June 13, 2025.
Preliminary results show blunt force injuries as the cause of death.
Toxicology is currently pending.
The Coroner’s Office is continuing to work collaboratively with the McHenry County Sheriff and Hebron Fire Department during this investigation.
