The only McHenry County Township with a Democratic Party State legislator is Algonquin.

That legislator is State Rep. Sue Ness.

Some municipalities received earmarked money in the recent state budget

Money was allocated for townships, but not for AlonquinTownship.

Here is what was allocated to other McHenry County Townships:

  • Alden Township – $50,000 reappropriated
  • Chemung Township – $50,000 reappropriated
  • Coral Township – $50,000 reappropriated
  • Dunham Township – $50,000 reappropriated
  • Hartland Township – $50,000 reappropriated
  • Marengo Township – $50,000 reappropriated
  • Riley Township – $50,000 reappropriated
  • Seneca Township – $50,000 reappropriated

McHenry County has seventeen townships.

The Village of Hebron, having the same name as Hebron Township, received $50,000 of reappropriated money…perhaps a mistake on the part of the Democratic Party appropriations staff.
