From McHenry County College:

The Friends of McHenry County College (MCC) Foundation is proud to announce the Ervin J. LeCoque University Center Scholarship, a new opportunity that will annually award a full tuition scholarship—currently up to $28,000—to an MCC graduate who plans to complete their bachelor’s degree through the University Center at MCC in Woodstock, which will help retain the best and brightest to build and lead our local community.
The scholarship will cover the tuition and fees for most bachelor’s programs at the University Center.
The scholarship honors Ervin J. LeCoque, a passionate advocate for student success and long-time supporter of MCC.
As a former board member of both the College and the Friends of MCC Foundation, Mr. LeCoque was deeply committed to expanding educational access for local students. It was always his dream to make a four-year degree attainable through MCC, and this scholarship honors that vision by helping graduates earn bachelor’s degrees without leaving the county.
Mr. LeCoque was a leader in the Crystal Lake community for almost 60 years.
He served as the former CEO and Chairman of the Aptar Group, and was instrumental in transforming a small local business into a global leader in dispensing technology.
Mr. LeCoque also helped create the Lakeside Legacy Foundation and served on its Board to save the Dole Mansion.
Known for his warmth, mentorship, and belief in the power of education, his legacy lives on through the students this scholarship will support.
“We are deeply grateful to the LeCoque Family Foundation for this extraordinary gift,” said Brian DiBona, Executive Director of the Friends of MCC Foundation. “This scholarship will not only ease the financial burden for students—it will empower them to complete their degrees and pursue meaningful careers, right here in our community. Erv’s legacy for supporting continuing education will change lives for generations to come.”
To be eligible for the Ervin J. LeCoque University Center Scholarship, applicants must have completed an associate’s degree (or at least 54 credit hours) at MCC, hold a minimum 3.0 GPA, and plan to enroll in a bachelor’s program offered at the University Center at MCC.
Financial need and community service may be considered, but are not required.
Students must complete the general scholarship application, submit two letters of recommendation (including one from an instructor), and upload a 2–3-minute video describing their career goals and ambitions.
