From McHenry County:
Educator of the Year Award winners honored

Congratulations to Woodstock Community Unit School District 200 Orchestra Director Lyndra Bastian, who was named McHenry County Educator of the Year!
Once again, Regional Superintendent of Schools Diana Hartmann and the McHenry County Regional Office of Education, and the The Community Foundation for McHenry County, outdid themselves at the May 10 awards banquet at Turnberry Golf Club in Lakewood at which Lyndra and nine other educators and support staff were selected as outstanding in their field from a sea of nominations.
Other winners included:
- Private/ Parochial Educator of the Year – Cindy Russell, St. Mary Catholic School, Woodstock
- Preschool Educator of the Year – Kelley Crone, Washington School, Harvard Community Unit School District 50
- Elementary Educator of the Year – Brenda Kunde, Martin Elementary School, Huntley Community School District 158
- Middle School Educator of the Year – Kari Snider-Ratkowski, Heinemann Middle School, District 158
- High School Educator of the Year – Lana Bachta, Cary-Grove Community High School, Community High School District 155
- Administrator of the Year – Carl Valianatos, McHenry High School District 156
- Certified Support Personnel of the Lear – Jennifer Atkinson, Hilltop Elementary School, McHenry School District 15
- Early Career Educator of the Year – Kelly Taugner, Alden-Hebron School District 19
- Non-certified Support Staff Personnel of the Year – Christopher Liggett, Cary-Grove High School
