If McHenry County Board members needed convincing that they will be facing a hot local issue when they vote on whether or not to approve zoning for a slaughterhouse next to the Greenwood Cemetery, attendance at yesterday’s hearing might convince them.
The proposal would site the slaughterhouse a little west of Wonder Lake next to the Greenwood Cemetery.
To get a set down front, one had to arrive early.
Opponents to the slaughterhouse on Greenwood Road in Woodstock filled the County Board meeting room.
There was only time for 3 residents to ask questions before the hearing was cut off at 4:10.
Hearing will reconvene on Wed May 28th at 1:30 for remaining questions from the public and public testimony.
