The United States Census has released population changes from 2020-2024.
McHenry County, after being the faster growing county for four decades a couple of decades ago, grew 1.8% in the four years since 2020 or 5,670 people.

The growth tips in McHenry County, as reported by the Chicago Tribune, follow:




The Tribune also shows population changes for each municipality.
Seventeen grew, while thirteen shrank.
32.5% or almost one-third of McHenry County municipalities lost population.
That’s much better than cities and villages statewide.
The Illinois Policy Institute analysis of the data found “All told, 84% of Illinois communities lost people, according to data released May 15 by the U.S. Census Bureau.:
