McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Announces Distracted Driving Enforcement Results

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office announced it issued 42 citations for distracted driving law violations:

  • 4 citations for seat belt violations,
  • 2 citations for no valid driver’s license,
  • 5 citations for driving while license suspended/revoked,
  • 5 citations for no insurance,
  • 16 citations for speeding,
  • 8 citations for suspended registration, and
  • 16 citations for other various offenses

during April’s Distracted Driving Awareness Month enforcement campaign.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office joined forces with the Illinois State Police, local law enforcement and highway safety partners for this enforcement effort. 

The Illinois distracted driving campaign was funded with federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation
