Fatal Motorcycle Crash near Marengo
A 19-year-old Marengo man died following a single motorcycle crash on County Line Road, north of Harmony Road, near Marengo in unincorporated McHenry County.
On Saturday, May 10, 2025, at approximately 3:24 p.m., members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, Boone County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marengo Fire and Rescue District responded to a single motorcycle crash on County Line Road north of Harmony Road.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2018 Indian Scout was traveling southbound on County Line Road when the driver (the sole occupant) lost control of the motorcycle for unknown reasons and failed to navigate the curve.
The motorcycle exited the roadway and the driver was ejected.
The driver was transported to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital and later pronounced deceased.
The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Traffic Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.

Motorcycle Crash with Critical Injuries
On Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 3:24 p.m., the Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts responded to the area of County Line Road and Harmony Road in unincorporated Marengo for a reported motorcycle crash.
Upon arrival, crews located a motorcycle in the ditch and bystander CPR being administered to an adult male patient.
Paramedics immediately took over life-saving efforts and determined the patient had sustained critical, life-threatening injuries.
A medical helicopter was requested to the scene, and LifeNet landed in a nearby field; however, a decision was made to transport the patient by ambulance to a local hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances of the crash. All inquiries regarding the investigation, including contributing factors, should be directed to their office.
