Crash with Injuries and Significant Traffic Disruption in Prairie Grove

On Wednesday, May 8, 2025, at 1:35 p.m., the Nunda Rural Fire Protection District responded to the entrance of Prairie Isle Golf Course, located at 2216 Rt 176 in Prairie Grove, for a reported crash with injuries.

Firefighters and paramedics arrived a short time later and confirmed a two-vehicle crash with moderate damage.

One driver, an adult female, was evaluated on scene and transported to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle refused medical evaluation at the scene.

Although no significant hazards were identified, firefighters remained on scene for approximately one hour to ensure the area was safe until the vehicles were removed.

Significant traffic backups occurred in both directions of Route 176 during the incident.

The Prairie Grove Police Department is investigating the crash. Additional questions regarding the investigation, including the cause, contributing factors, and any enforcement decisions, should be directed to their office.
