Found in the 506-page agenda packet of Tuesday’s McHenry County Board packet:

The entry to Suite 100 (the VAC) consists of two doors with full glass panes. These have been in place since the construction of the building in 2003.

The doors are troublesome for clients with limited mobility, especially those in wheelchairs.

The door is scarred from being struck by and scraped against wheelchairs and walkers.

The project will replace the double doors with a single handicap access 42” door.

Additionally, the entrance to the back offices where we meet with clients is narrow.

It is not unusual for clients in wheelchairs to hit the wall or door attempting to get through the door.

This door will be replaced with a 42” door with buzz in access and the entrance will be wider.

The cost is estimated to be 44,900
