From the Champaign News-Gazette comes this pithy summary of what will happen now that Madigan has been convicted of assorted wrong-doing:

“People who study these things say grief consists of five stages:

  • denial,
  • bargaining,
  • depression,
  • anger and
  • acceptance.

Illinoisans’ grief over the state’s fallen status follows a similar pattern.”
