Car-Ends School Bus

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 6:41 a.m., the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 16200 block of Route 14, west of Hartland Road, for a reported motor vehicle crash.

Firefighters arrived shortly after and found that a sedan had rear-ended a District 200 school bus.

The bus was occupied by 10 individuals, including nine students and the driver.

The male driver of the sedan and all occupants of the bus were uninjured.

No other vehicles were involved.

The roadway was closed in both directions during the incident to ensure the safety of responders and those involved. 

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. Questions regarding the investigation, including the cause, contributing factors, or driver actions, should be directed to them.
