McHenry County College is earning the title “Last Transparent Local Government.”

MCC is refusing to release the names of those who have filed for election to its Board of Trustees.

A simple request did not meet with a reply…as has been the case with every other location where people are filing for the spring elections.

Instead, a requirement was made for a Freedom of Information request.

So, I filed one.

Here’s the answer I received:

Hello, and thank you for your FOIA request, received by McHenry County College on Thursday, November 14. I will review your request and provide a response within the appropriate timeframe. Thank you, and have a wonderful day!

Sincerely,
Christina Haggerty, FOIA Officer

State law gives local governments five business days to reply.

The end of filing for the board is Monday.
