Dump Drums
But McHenry County Blog keeps running photos of stuff found on the property, I am told, after Omega's bill was submitted. You'll have to admit that today's offering would be hard to miss.
It's not a half buried 55 gallon drum.
I see two that are right on the surface.
And, how about that fuel tank?
High enough to see?
I think so.

Hiding Under the Leaves on Paul Iversson's Property
Neighbors living in Covered Bridge Trails complained for years about the junk on neighbor Paul Iverson's property. They finally got McHenry County government to clean it up.
They thought.
The county hired Omega Demolition to do the work for $22,000.
It would be done lickidy-split.
Even faster than the August 20th deadline in the bid specifications.
Couldn't trust that veterans' advocate guy to do it for the $1 that one of his legal entities bid.
That guy, John Blanchard of Crystal Lake's NASA (National Association of Systems Administrators), was going to hire unemployed veterans and pay them with the sale of the most useful of the junk in the dump.
is holding a reception tonight at 6 at the Holiday Inn. Illinois Veterans Affairs Director Tammy Duckworth will announce $1 million in grants to improve the lives of veterans.
What do we see in today's picture of stuff not cleaned up by Omega Demolition?
Beats me, but it looks like junk?

More Junk Just Off Walkup Avenue North of Crystal Lake
McHenry County government paid Omega Demolition $22,000 to clean up what has been called “Paul Iverson’s Dump.” For over a week, McHenry County Blog has presented photographs of Iverson’s property after the clean up was supposedly completed.
Today, we have another photo from the land between Covered Bridge Trails subdivision and what Crystal Lakers call the McHenry Blacktop.
What is it?
A jeep.

Gas Can Among Junk Left at Private Dump
Maybe whoever from McHenry County government signed off on the completion of this private dump clean up could be excused for not seeing this red two and half gallon gasoline can on the Paul Iverson property next to Coverer Bridge Trials. But it looks like there is a lawn chair sticking up out of the undergrowth.
Hard to miss that.
The person who found it there took this photograph for me.
I was informed it was after Omega Demolition was supposed to have finished its clean up.
Enlarge the photograph by clicking on it and see what else you can identify.

Junkyard Metal and Hose
More junk on the property of Paul Iverson north of Crystal Lake.McHenry County let a bid to Omega Demolition to clean it up.
The cost was supposed to be $22,000.
A bit more than the $1 bid by one of veterans’ advocate John Blanchard’s entities that wanted the job to create jobs for unemployed veterans and was going to use the junk to pay the salaries
But, hey, for $22,000 you ought to get a first class clean up, right?
The Covered Bridge Trails subdivision people complained for years about the mess.
And, finally, a clean up was supposed to be completed by the third week of August, according to the bid specs.
Doesn’t look like it was cleaned up when this picture was taken, does it?
After enlarging the photo by clicking on it, can you tell what the metal is to the left of the hose?

Still More Junk in the Dump Next to Covered Bridge Trails
Wonder how many days it will take me to run out of pictures that I’m told were taken after Omega Demolition finished its work at Paul Iverson’s property on the blacktop between Crystal Lake and McHenry?Driving toward McHenry, look left right after you pass the Covered Bridge Trails subdivision entrance. You’ll see the frontage of the land owned by Iverson.
A boat and a car comprise the abandoned vehicles featured today. The car is obviously a Ford.
McHenry County government supervised the clean up.
Omega Demolition won a $22,000 bid to do the job, beating out one of John Blanchard's veterans' assistance entities bid of $1.

Still More Junk Left at the Paul Iverson Property
Hey, you thought batteries, a car and a boat were all that Omega Demolition apparently left after the time period was completed for cleaning up what Covered Bridge Trails subdivision neighbors call a dump?Wrong.
Here's some corrugated steel.
You can get a better look by clicking on the picture.
You'll remember that this is the dump that John Blanchard wanted veterans to hire unemployed veterans to clean up. One of his entities bid $1 and the others bid amounts lower than Omega Domolition's $22,000.

Walkup Avenue Private Dump "Clean Up"
Looks like I skipped a couple of days on the progress made by Omega Demolition on cleaning up the Paul Iverson property on the McHenry Blacktop. It’s located between Covered Bridge Trails subdivision the only smooth road that runs between McHenry and Crystal Lake.
Today, we can see a car with a broken windshield.
Pretty hard to miss.
Maybe it's the same one show with an old boat a couple of days ago.

Paul Iverson “Junk Yard” Not Cleaned Up
Residents of Crystal Lake’s Covered Bridge Trails subdivision put lots of pressure on county officials before a $22,000 contract was let to Elgin’s Omega Demolition.Omega was not the low bidder.
The low bid was $1 from one of veterans’ advocate John Blanchard’s legal entities. He figured he could salvage enough stuff on Paul Iverson’s property between Covered Bridge Trails and what Crystal Lakers call the McHenry Blacktop to give veterans a job on the way to more stable employment.
But, the professionals got the job.
Thursday, McHenry County Blog ran a picture of batteries that Omega seems to have missed in its clean up operation. Friday, it was one of a car and a boat.
Today, there is a picture of a boat. Is it the same one in yesterday's photo of a car and a boat?

Covered Bridge Trails Subdivision Probably Did Not Get the Dump Clean Up It Hoped For
Yesterday, McHenry County Blog ran a photograph of batteries left on the Paul Iverson property on McHenry Blacktop (or Crystal Lake Blacktop, if you are from McHenry). The picture was taken after the McHenry County government-hired Omega Demolition presumably completed its clean up. Its winning bid was for $22,000.
You can’t see much of the property from Walkup Avenue, but if you look on the western side of the road between the entrance to Covered Bridge Trails and Prairie Ridge High School, you will see an old mailbox and a dirt road.
There’s a fair amount of property behind the mail box between the road and the subdivision.
And, there was enough stuff to draw the interest of veterans’ advocate John Blanchard of NASA (National Association of Systems Administrators). NASA is located on the northern top of the Terra Cotta hill on Route 31, just to help you identify this player. Four corporate entities he has created submitted bids for the clean up—including one for $1--but none were deemed acceptable.
Instead the lowest bidding “professional” clean up company—Omega—got the job.
Blanchard had spotted a couple of usable truck trailers among the junk and he planned to use them in a trucking company where veterans would be the drivers. The company Vet-Tek now delivers dry goods in the Chicago-Miami-Houston triangle. Chicago is defined broadly. Milwaukee, for instance, is included.
Other “goodies” were also spotted.
But some “not-so-goodies” remain.
These look like a boat and a black car.
Kind of hard to miss, wouldn't you say?
You can get a better look by clicking on the picture.
