Total Against Reick from Madigan Allies at $43,250

The leash Mike Madigan has around Jack Franks' neck is not visible in this photo, but it is getting $42,259 tighter this year.

The leash Mike Madigan has around Jack Franks’ neck is not visible in this photo, but it is getting $43,250 tighter this year.

It’s hard to keep up with the money that Mike Madigan’s allies are pouring into McHenry County to make sure that ally Jack Franks is safe this fall.

The strategy is simple.

Put a phony Republican (Jeffrey Lichte) on the ballot to oppose Franks who will lie down and play dead this fall.

Boy, must Jack Franks be vulnerable to real Republican Steve Reick!

Here’s what is showing as of the time of the posting of this article:

  • $15,000 from the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association PAC
  • $12,500 in teachers’ union (the Illinois Education Association) money
  • $5,000 from the SEIU (Service Employees International Uniion) Healthcare
  • $5,000 from the Illinois Federation of Teachers COPE
  • $5,000 from IHCA (Illinois Health Care Association – nursing homes) PAC
  • $1,250 from Aperion Care Inc ., Skokie

$15,500 is being spent on radio against Steve Reick.

Total Against Reick from Madigan Allies at $43,250 — 12 Comments

  1. Keep brinbing the stories on Madigan.

Maybe, the people of the State of Illinois will finally get mad enough that they find a way to have him removed from office.

Franks needs to go, as I believe he is nothing but trouble.

  2. In addition Jack Franks and his Democrat lawyer / union buddies are attacking the McHenry County Board members for not spending enough hours per week on County business.

This is coming from a guy who RARELY even reads legislation he votes on!!

As Steve has so nicely stated, Jack Franks has had his life handed to him on a platter by his daddy.

Vote for Steve – time for Jack to hit the road!!!

Deny Jack his 20 year pension funding!!!

  3. Jack Franks and his Democrat lawyer / union buddies are attacking the McHenry County Board members for not spending enough hours per week on County business.

Are you really complaining about the fact that someone is shining a light on the fact that county board members are illegally taking a pension?

    How conservative of you…

  4. Madigan spent $200,000 last cycle on Rep. Carol Sente – what does that say about the seriousness of this race?

  5. Carol Sente was unopposed in the 2014 Democratic primary for the 59th Representative District.

She defeated Republican Leslie Munger, current Illinois Comptroller, in the General Election.

  6. The Democrats called on their A team for the attacks against Mr. Reick in the hopes “Republican” (he’s really a Democrat) Jeffery Lichte will prevail and then would presumably allow incumbent Democrat Jack Franks to win re-election in the fall general election (Google maps has a picture of a Jack Franks campaign sign in Mr. Lichte’s front yard).

Following are two of the A Team expenditures by the PAC “Government for the People” created on March 7, 2016 to attack Steve Reicks and promote Jeffery Lichte.

  7. Cal, this is a real question as opposed to a fake partisan questions that seem to be the feature here.

If Franks ran Lichte, and if Lichte doesn’t beat Reick what does it matter?

It doesn’t change the race in the general election.

I mean it is pretty clear that Lichte with his invisible campaign doesn’t win, ever.

    So what’s the point?

    Please explain.

  8. It matters because if Lichte wins, Franks gets a free ride this fall.

If Reick wins, Franks will have a contest.

The effort by Madigan’s allies to give Franks a free ride means, to me, that Franks is vulnerable.

  9. I guess, the election made my point.

How was an invisible candidate supposed to beat Reick?

I have thought about it and he served as a back stop for the crazy mailings, so I guess that is the answer.

But without the crazy mailings it did not make any sense because as crazy as McHenry Co is, it is not going to elect a ghost.

But even with the mailing I think it was a totally low percentage play, not worth the tens of thousands put into it.
