MCC To Pay $65,000 Per Acre for Farm
McHenry County College intends to pay $65,000 per acre for 57.7 acres, minus the part that is Ridgefield Road.right-of-way.A $37,525 option has already been paid for the land to G & H Trust, William Gilger, trustee.
The Ridgefield Road property is south of the unincorporated village of Ridgefield, as you can see from the map.
It is northeast and adjacent to McHenry County College.
In the image of the map in the upper right, you can see college buildings at the lower left.
You can read the street names in Ridgefield near the northern edge of the property, if you enlarge it by clicking on the map at the bottom. One of the reasons for the college's being located where it is was the proximity of the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad, now, Union Pacific track.
It is conceivable that a station could be build nearby with bus shuttle service to the McHenry County College campus.
