The Best Tax Is One Someone Else Pays
Now, one of those “free riders,” Algonquin resident and Daily Herald columnist Amy Mack, says the stadium she would not have to help pay for is a wonderful idea.

It’s intriguing to hear a minor league baseball team could come to McHenry County via a joint effort with McHenry County College. Though some taxpayers might prefer it to be a private vs. public venture, I think it makes sense and could actually offset costs for taxpayers. Baseball enthusiasts have been looking for the right spot for a minor league stadium for some years and, at one time, took a hard look at Algonquin, among other locations.
