District 300 Tax Hikers Have $42,000 to Elect Board Members
It’s up a little from June 30th, but that’s probably because of refunds from AT&T and State Farm Insurance premiums.
The treasurer of Advance 300, the tax hike front group for the the Carpentersville-based school district, has reported this income as “individual contributions,” but I figure that’s just because of inexperience.
In the past, this committee’s predecessor committees have not spent money electing school board members.
But, there is no reason they couldn’t.

I hope there is not enough money in all of Illinois to let the voters of algonquin Township, much less the rest of D300 be fooled again!
Let's see who Advance 300 supports, then we'll know who not to vote for. My guess is there are plenty D300 voters waiting for this information, so if I were running for a board position, I'd not want Advance300 on my side. Regardless what Advance 300 does, support candidates, change their name, they don't have enough money to save their reputation.
The old saying "follow the money" might be a clue.
Sometimes PACS have a history includng name changes - and they also get money from others. As in "Core P.O. Box 1132
Dundee, IL 60118 $52,516.04
4/27/2004 Transfer In
Advance 300" per the Illinois Election site on committees.
Allowing for the above funds, if Core (Citizens Organized for Responsible Education) somehow morphed into Core4Kids and some of the D300 board members were tied to Core4Kids as advisor, liaison, web master, (or whatever) or a Core4Kids person was also an Advance 300 Committee Senior liaison - perhaps Advance 300 would be backing one or more of them as candidates?
Of course there is also the possibility any district that a particular board member running for reelection or a committee might become a political albatross.
It should be interesting.
