Gay Games Pay Crystal Lake

Now, all three local governmental entities who participated in this summer’s Gay Games regatta have been paid what they billed the sponsoring organization for services rendered.

Unlike the Crystal Lake Park District, which insisted on being paid up front, Lakewood and Crystal Lake sent bills after the event.

Yesterday’s article reported on Lakewood’s having been paid, first, 90% of what was billed and, then, the other 10%.

Crystal Lake also received two checks, according to Finance Director Mark Nannini. The total was $17,606.72.

“They paid us two separate checks,” he told McHenry County Blog.

“9-05 was $16,638. And 9-15 was $968.72.

"There was debate about what bills were received by them and what services were given.

“There were discussions back and forth.”
