New Huntley School District 158 Superintendent Wants Forensic Audit on Payroll

Even if minority Huntley District 158 School Board member doesn’t yet have the support of three of his fellow board members for a forensic audit, it appears that he has made a partial conversion of new School Superintendent John Burkey.

It took just over a month for the new superintendent to "see the light" on the payroll part of the problem in his district.

Burkey apparently surprise the Majority Six (now Five) during budget hearings forensic audit advocate Larry Snow pointed out that, if the board wanted a forensic audit, it had to put money in the budget.

Superintendent Burkey agreed, which must have astonished the Majority Six (now Five).

After all, that Majority Six (now Five) is used to having a superintendent in its back pocket.

I guess he figures with Algonquin Policemen investigating the theft of $8-10,000 relating to payroll that there just might be more money that walked out the door.

Check out this Saturday Daily Herald article by Jeffrey Gaunt.

Maybe the new superintendent will figure out that a forensic audit is also needed to check on the bond money spent on construction before too long.
