Barrington Hills Says It Did Not Ask Chicago Crime Commission to Investigate Barrington Farms Zoning
With a McHenry County Board zoning vote on Barrington Farms that could come as early as August 15th—the old Alexander MacArthur farm—some might find a May 26th letter of interest.
It is from the Crystal Lake law firm of Matuszewich, Kelly & McKeever. It speaks on behalf of its client, the Village of Barrington Hills.
It is a letter to McHenry County State’s Attorney Lou Bianchi and is just three paragraphs:

I would like to thank you for forwarding a copy of your May 24, 2006, Memorandum regarding the Chicago Crime Commission investigation to my office. So, if village officials did not convince the Chicago Crime Commission to look for crime in McHenry County, who had the influence to get two investigators talking to people all over McHenry County?
My office has heard rumors of a Chicago Crime Commission investigation in McHenry County. One former Zoning Board of Appeals (“ZBA”) member contacted my office and made an unfounded allegation that my client, the Village of Barrington Hills, initiated such Chicago Crime Commission investigation.
Contrary to such speculation, the Village of Barrington Hills has not requested any Chicago Crime Commission investigation involving public corruption in McHenry County. Further, if the Village of Barrington Hills becomes award of any public corruption or other criminal activity, the Village will communicate this information directly to the appropriate Federal or State law enforcement agencies.
Once again, thank you for your cooperation.
