Stufflebeam: Have Message, Will Travel
How many 9-year olds can say a candidate for governor spoke at his party?Not many, I’ll bet.
Yesterday, Illinois Constitution Party write-in candidate for governor Randy Stufflebeam was at McHenry’s Fiesta Days parade and decided to stop by to meet me on the way south.
It just so happened that I was at the beach watching kids swim at my son’s “family” birthday party (not to be confused with the more raucous Chuck E. Cheese birthday party Thursday night).I showed Randy what a normal day on Crystal Lake looked like with actual residents using the lake, instead of its being usurped by outsiders.
We got acquainted a bit and, then, my son decided it was time to go home. (That his gifts had not yet been opened may have been the reason or, maybe, after an hour or so looking for treasures—shells and nails from the old ice house--on the bottom of the lake and chasing ducks, it was time for yard fun.)I found Randy’s parents resting in their van in the driveway and, since we had so much food in the house, invited everybody in.
I introduced Randy to the family and friends in the living room and he took it from there. He definitely is the conservative candidate for governor. Certainly, the Democrats, Republicans and Greens running are far to his left.
As I drifted in and out of the room, after taking this picture, I heard heated discussions of how bad Illinois was doing on any number of subjects.
Next came the highlight for my son. GIFTS.
(Has anyone else noticed that every holiday but Thanksgiving has become devoted to getting stuff?)
After Randy and his parents—both retired pastors—had eaten their fill, my bride prepared birthday cake for a sugar fix on their trip to Peoria and, with shortcut map to Route 47 through Lake in the Hills and Huntley on the back of a paper plate, they were on their was south.

Cal;
You say, "I showed Randy what a normal day on Crystal Lake looked like with actual residents using the lake, instead of its being usurped by outsiders." Didn't your parents ever teach you to share?
