Message of the Day – A Bumper Sticker and a License Plate Holder

Today there are two messages, one occupational, the other an intellectual statement, I think.

The license plate holder shows this car owner to be a plumber and member of Local 93 in Waukegan, Illinois.

The bumper sticker below seems to show a fish that has eaten “Darwin.” The fish has legs. From what I can find on the internet, it seems to be a pro-Darwin sign.

I think this is the third in a series of bumper stickers and counter bumper stickers.

The first, of course, was the fish, an ancient symbol of Christianity.

The second was a fish with Darwin inside.

I'm a little fuzzy on the meaning of that.

Can anyone add anything?

Comments:
It's not a fish with Darwin inside - it's a counter-fish symbol: an evolutionist symbol.

Re: bumper stickers (of any kind, which I'm tired of) are political, informative, or humorous. I regard them as drive-by legal graffiti. (My friend suggests they are sometimes more like cats declaring their turf without the liquid.)

Re: the Darwin Fish with cute little feet

I found this on the Internet...

"I believe that the Darwin Fish sums up my religious beliefs," the responsdent said. "I believe in a higher being, God, if you will, but I do not believe that the acknowledgment of such a god excludes scientific and anthropological evidence for either the Big Bang theory or evolution."
---

Everyone can interpret this sticker the way they choose. Lately, I am tired of "man" putting limits on God...but not for the usual battles we keep revisiting.

We are taught that God is all powerful and that God allows for human beings to make choices - good and bad. It is, for want of more complex or eloquent words, a form of "experiment" that God is watching play out.

In the bigger scheme of things, why is the planet known as Earth considered the ONLY "experiment"?

Our eyes and brains can only take in a tiny fraction of the Universe. If God created all, what other wonders, "experiments", methods of establishing thinking beings are out there that it is simply not yet time for us to know about?

Thoughts on a steamy summer day...

And, of course there is the fish with TRUTH inside eating the DARWIN fish to clsoe the circle.

Pat;

The TRUTH fish eating the DARWIN fish would complete the circle if it said FAITH instead of TRUTH.

Truth can be proven. Faith doesn't have to be.
