Ex-Teacher Union Negotiator Applies for School District 300 Board Vacancy

Dundee’s Dennis Cleveland, the chief negotiator for the teacher's union for the just expired contract, is one of two applicants to fill Carpentersville District 300's School board vacancy.

Cleveland signed the teachers’ union contract as “chief negotiator” in 2003.

The second candidate is Elizabeth Lopez of Sleepy Hollow.

People may apply until July 13th, but there is a packet that needs to be picked up at the Superintendent’s office at 300 Cleveland Avenue, Carpentersville, which must be filled out and returned by the 13th.

Comments:
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha (old style) or LOL LOL LOL LOL (new style) - here I thought it was the 4th of July and it's really April Fool's Day........ or is it Taxpayers' are Fooled Day?

Note: the laughter above is NOT joyful, it's "Oh, gee, what's next - Board Member T shirt uniforms that say "School Industry PACked Board" and applications that only have spots to allow for choice of HOW a board member is tied to the School Industry?

The above is a composite of comments from 3 people who read this story. I cleaned it up. All 3 ended their comments with some version of "What a joke!"

Ah who cares. Clearly not anyone in D-300. Looks like D-300 taxpayers won't even get the benefit of a Larry Snow who at least brings the buffoonery to light. Even though he's constantly outvoted by the gang of 5/6, at least there's a voice, someone shining a light. The D-300 board contains no such individual (let alone a majority -- heavens to betsy), and it looks like big ed's grip on the D-300 taxpayers is only going to tighten.

Good luck apathetic D-300 folks. I'm sure your inflated tax bills will get you higher property values (which BTW have nothing to do with your income and only matter if you sell your house) due to the great schools and make for great communities since the kids are so much better educated by all that increased dough that will be pumped into the school system.

Sincerely,

Your anti-everything radical crackpot parent

P.S. I'm glad y'all are thinking rationally about this, since free markets and liberty are back to being crackpot ideas these days.
