Fox Thanks Farmer
When I saw the picture accompanying this Pioneer Press story, I couldn’t help but think that the Countryside’s title could have been better:
(The official name of the committee is Building Exceptional School Together.)
Meyer lives in Huntley School District 158, but was the paid local organizer for Carpentersville School District 300’s two successful tax hike referendums this past spring.
McHenry County Blog revealed Meyer received over $6,000 in December from the District 300 tax hike committee.
Newly hired school administrator Glen Stewart was elected last year with the help of B.E.S.T. He will be paid $101,000, plus benefits.
The Huntley School District 158 chickens are being plucked annually as a result of the false advertising by the B.E.S.T. tax hike political action committee.
Local group thanks legislators for help in new referendum lawReceiving a plaque is State Rep. Mike Tryon (R-Crystal Lake), who worked hard to remedy the harm done by Cheryl Meyer, the woman handing him the award, and head of the B.E.S.T. tax hike committee.

I saw the letter by Doug Meyer in the papers (Northwest Herald, Daily Herald) today...is he related to Cheryl Meyer, or a D158 employee?
But as I've said elsewhere, the only place where people can do something about what they don't like in D158 is in April of 2007 in the next school board election. I personally think it's only a few malcontents who claim they care about taxes, but in reality, are not mainstream with the majority of voters within D158, who continue to elect BEST candidates, including April of 2005.
Put another way, when it comes to D158, its time to put up, or shut up. Win the D158 elections in April of 2007 and elect at least 3 D158 school board members who are aligned with Board Member Larry Snow.
Go get 'em.

Again, people should not have to run for office to re-place a bunch of buffoons. I expect my elected officials to act in a fiscally responsible manor and not use their positions to hire their buddies. You sound as if you condone the behavior as long as they can get away with the behavior. What a shame.
Wrong again, DT.
It was legal, yet it is not necessarily right.
When the leaders are wrong, or "buffoons" as you say, they must be replaced.
Come next April 17, we'll see if real change comes to D158.
