EXTRA – A Special "Message of the Day" from My Son

My 8 and 11/12ths-year old son gave me this card for Father’s Day.

It looks like a quarter, which, of course, features the father of our country.

It says,

In Dad We Trust
The year on the coin-card is 2006.

Inside was a good play on words:
Don't ever change.
Maybe he was inspired by our trip to the top of the Washington Monument.

In this family, of course, we put our trust in God, our Heavenly Father.

Comments:
Walk a little slower……

Walk a little slower, Daddy,
Said a little child so small.
I'm following in your footsteps
And I don't want to fall.

Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they are hard to see;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.

Someday when I'm all grown up,
You're what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who'll want to follow me.

And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you.
